Mission of the Centre

The mission of the Centre is to present, analyse and interpret the relationship between agriculture, security and national security.

To conduct research on security challenges, risks and threats to individuals, communities, societies, regions and international communities in all dimensions of security (diplomatic, military, economic, financial, social and agrarian).The mission of the Centre is to create an interdisciplinary scientific capacity, community, research workshop and network, which, in line with the main profile of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the objectives of its institutes, will contribute to the definition and strengthening of the concept of security through high quality specialised activities, the development of organisations, innovative scientific organisation, educational capacity building, national and international networking, project generation, professional event organisation, high quality publication activities and a developed quality assurance market presence.

The Centre pays particular attention to cooperation with the University's institutes and departments, and to the development of a common way of thinking in all aspects of security.

 

Tasks of the Centre

Tasks of the Centre is to establish an interdisciplinary scientific capability, community, research workshop and network, which, in line with the main profile of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the objectives of its institutes, contributes to the definition and strengthening of the concept of safety through high-quality professional activities, the development of organisations, innovative scientific organisation, the expansion of teaching capacity, the building of national and international contacts, project generation, the organisation of professional events, high-quality publication activities and the development of a quality assurance market presence.

 

Goal of the Centre

To analyse and assess, on the basis of professional research, the challenges, risks and threats facing the world in all dimensions of security (diplomatic, military, economic, financial, social and other).To conduct research and analysis on crisis zones, conflicts and wars.

Based on these analyses, to formulate proposals for Hungary's involvement in the various countries and regions.To deepen the students' knowledge of security and agriculture in the framework of a "C" type course.To provide practical training in various fields of agriculture through the Centre's laboratories.To collaborate with the University's experts for the success of the Hungarian agriculture programmes at home and abroad.

To cooperate and coordinate the implementation of tasks in joint projects of MATE, the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
